A fax cover sheet is the first page of a fax. It says who the fax is for, who it is from, how many pages follow, and how to reach the sender. ClearFax adds a cover page to every fax, and that page is included and never billed.
What to put on a fax cover sheet
- To: the recipient's name and office or department.
- From: your name.
- Date: the day you send it.
- Pages: how many pages follow.
- Reply to: a phone number or email where they can reach you.
- Re: a short subject, like an application or account reference.
Keep it short
- One page.
- Plain text, large enough to stay legible after faxing.
- No sensitive details. Anyone near the machine can see the cover.
- Faxes go out in black and white, so skip color and shading.
How the ClearFax cover page works
- ClearFax adds a cover page to your fax.
- The cover page is included and never billed.
- Each fax can have up to 50 pages, plus the cover page.
- The price depends on the number of pages, and you see it before you pay.
Send a fax with a cover page
- Scan pages with the camera, or import PDFs and images from Files.
- Reorder or remove pages.
- Enter the fax number, or pick it from Contacts. ClearFax checks the number before you pay.
- Check the pages and the price, then send.
- Follow the fax network's status as it sends. A receipt lands in your history when it goes through.
A successful send means the fax network reported the transmission complete, not that a person read or accepted it.
