To fax medical records or forms to a doctor's office or pharmacy from your phone, confirm the office's fax number, scan the pages with the ClearFax app, and send. ClearFax adds a cover page, shows the fax network's status as it sends, and saves a receipt PDF when the fax goes through.
Before you send
- Call the office or pharmacy and confirm their fax number.
- Ask whether they take the document by fax. That is up to them.
- Ask whose attention it should go to.
- Have every page ready, signed where needed.
Steps
- Open ClearFax and scan the pages with the camera, or import PDFs and images from Files.
- Reorder or remove pages. Make sure nothing extra is included.
- Enter the fax number, or pick it from Contacts. ClearFax checks the number before you pay.
- Check the pages and the price, then send.
- Follow the fax network's status as it sends.
- Keep the receipt PDF from your history.
Things people fax to clinics and pharmacies
- Medical records and forms for a doctor's office or pharmacy.
- Insurance claims and paperwork.
What ClearFax does with your pages
- Your pages are deleted from our server once the fax reaches a final status.
- Our fax provider holds a copy until it expires on their own schedule.
- Faxes are sent in black and white.
- ClearFax makes no HIPAA or other compliance claims.
Confirmation
Every fax that goes through gets a receipt PDF: destination, page count, when it was sent and completed, the fax network's result, and a support code.
A successful send means the fax network reported the transmission complete, not that a person read or accepted it. Call the office if you need to know someone has it.
If the fax fails
- If the fax network reports a failed or partial send, your purchase is not used up.
- You can fix the fax number and resend at no extra charge, with the same pages.
- Every purchase includes at least two attempts. The app shows the exact number before you pay.
Questions

What happens to my pages after I send?
Your pages are deleted from the ClearFax server once the fax reaches a final status. The fax provider holds a copy until it expires on their own schedule.
How do I know the office got it?
ClearFax shows the fax network's status and gives you a receipt PDF when the fax goes through. A successful send means the fax network reported the transmission complete, not that a person read or accepted it. To be sure someone has it, call the office.
